Why we built SYNAPS

Founded by contact sport athletes who have lived the problem.

Boxing, soccer and rugby league shaped our lives, but we've also felt the reality of head knocks and the harsh reality that comes with them. We've had our own lives, and the lives of people we love, impacted by head injuries. It pushed us to look for something better.

There's no way to completely prevent concussion or traumatic brain injury in contact sport. But we wanted to give our kids, and the next generation, the fighting chance we never had. Right now, the youth sports concussion crisis is changing families' choices. Many parents, including us, have considered pulling their kids out of sport altogether. That is a tragedy, because sport isn't just a game, it's where kids build confidence, discipline, teamwork, and a sense of who they can become.

That's why we created SYNAPS: to make proactive brain health part of the training plan, like strength work and stretching, without pretending sport is risk-free. Formulated by a neuroscientist. Selected for brain health and cognitive resilience. So kids can keep playing the sports they love. Smarter. Safer. With more confidence.

The SYNAPS founders
Our mission

Keep kids in the games they love, with a brain that's looked after every step of the way.

Families are asking harder questions about contact sport than any generation before them. We built SYNAPS so the answer doesn't have to be "stop playing." It can be "play smart, train smart, and treat brain health like the rest of the training plan."

We're not selling a cure. We're not making medical claims. We're offering a game-day nutritional foundation, formulated by a neuroscientist, that supports the systems your athlete's brain relies on every time they step on the field. SYNAPS is currently the subject of a university clinical trial at Macquarie University.

What we stand for

Four things, non-negotiable.

  1. 01

    Honest about risk

We don't pretend sport is risk-free, and we don't sell helmets in a bottle. SYNAPS supports brain health, it doesn't replace medical care, smart coaching, or modern protocols.

  2. 02

    Built on neuroscience

Every ingredient earns its place. The formula targets five biological pathways the brain relies on under physical stress, not a marketing-friendly hero ingredient.

  3. 03

    Made for game days

A ritual for every training day and game day, like taping up or warming down. Long-term protocol, no short-term stimulation. Real results compound when the routine sticks.

  4. 04

    Parents, athletes, families first

We are parents and former athletes. Every decision we make starts with: would we give this to our own kid? If the answer is no, it does not ship.

How we got here

From a question on the sideline to a game-day protocol.

  1. 2024

The question that started it all

A founder watches his own son walk off the field after a head clash. He asks the same question every parent has asked: what can I actually do about this?

  2. 2025

    Formula development

Eighteen months of research with a neuroscientist. Ten ingredients selected, dosed, and re-dosed. Forms, fillers, and flavours iterated until the protocol was both effective and easy to take.

  3. 2026

    SYNAPS ships

The first brain health gummy designed specifically for young athletes in contact sport. First production run in planning.
